Our Story

Pastor Kevin High was called into youth ministry in 1999 and it wasn't until he married Amy High in 2016 that he started to feel yet another calling in his life to start his own church.  As they began to plan, God provided a church space in Eagle Plaza in Hedgesville and shortly after securing the location, donations of items began pouring in which enabled the doors to be opened in November of 2021.

Freedom Church United was born.  

At Freedom Church United, we want you to walk in the doors just as you are and wherever you are in your faith walk and feel like family.
In all we do, our goal is to bring glory to Christ in our words, our community outreach, our worship and our fellowship.  We are a non-denominational church where we consider it a place to meet God and let your burdens be lifted. Most of all, we believe that Jesus is the only way to Heaven and that He died and rose for our sins. 

Since the doors have opened in 2021, we have created and expanded multiple ministries that are continuing to grow!
FCU currently offers baptisms, women and mens ministry events, children and youth ministry, worship teams, social media and sound/video teams, and community outreach ministry.  As the church continues to grow, God will open additional doors for new ministries that will continue to build His kingdom.  

We want you to feel comfortable coming in - no need for a suit and tie.
We're not being fancy - it's all about reaching more people to show them the love of Christ.
